Board of Trustees

The CTBUH Board of Trustees is responsible for creating the long-term vision and strategy for the Council and its members. The Board oversees the governance of the Council, including the annual audit of operations and finances, and develops programs to ensure continued growth.

The Board of Trustees comprises 13 seats reflective of the Council's membership and the CEO who sits ex-officio.

Board Member Qualifications

Trustees are drawn from the Designated Experts of CTBUH organizational members in good standing.
Trustees:

  • Have a high profile in the industry or related fields, with an established track record of contributing to the inception, design, research, construction, occupation or operation of the built environment.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standing in the industry and adhere to CTBUH policies on confidentiality & disclosure of conflict and interest.
  • Represent a company or institution recognized as a leader in the tall building industry which is a CTBUH organizational member in good standing.
  • Willingness to advocate for, and work to grow, the Council and support programs to serve members.
  • Leadership experience with nonprofit boards and/or a track record of strong engagement with CTBUH.

Trustees reflect the Council's diverse membership from the following industries:

  • Letting Agent/ Property Management

Officers are elected by the board from the trustees. Elected officer positions are: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

Terms and Time Commitment

Trustees serve a two-year term, renewed at the discretion of the Board.

Trustees should expect to spend an average of 5 hours per month on CTBUH business. During certain times of the year, such as during annual or awards conferences, this time commitment may be greater.
