Tokyo’s World Trade Center Building has been closed for demolition. The 152-meter building closed its doors on 30 June 2021 and demolition is expected to take one year and eight months.

A new 235-meter building is planned for the site. The 46-story office building would also house a hotel and host tourism functions. It is scheduled to complete by March 2027. It will be part of the development project of "Hamamatsucho 2-4 District A Block," which covers about 3.2 hectares. A total of 314,000 square meters of new construction is planned for the overall site, including an eight-story building.

The site is the terminal station for the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport and nearby Hamamatsucho Station is also only three stops from Tokyo Station.
