A new apartment tower under construction in Chiba, called Makuhari Bay Park Sky Grand Tower, will rise 48 floors with a height of 172 meters. Next to it will be the Makuhari Shintoshin Wakaba Residential Area Plan (B-3 Block) at 3-11 Wakaba, Mihama-ku, which will rise 43 floors with a height of 158 meters. Once fully constructed, six condominium towers in total are planned to be on the site called the Makuhari Bay Park Complex, with the Makuhari Bay Park Cross Tower in front. The Makuhari railway station is about a 15-minute walk from the complex.
While the tower will mainly be residential, there will be commercial space available, as well as a childcare facility. The building is made of reinforced concrete, with a steel foundation and cast-in-place concrete piles. The site area spans 21,000 square meters while the building area will be 9,700 square meters with a total floor area of 89,000 square meters.
