The acquisition of land for a new mixed-use development at 50 Hudson Street and 55 Hudson Street in Jersey City has been acquired by Tishman Speyer. Located along the waterfront of the Hudson River, the pair of high-rises will add residential units and retail to the area.

55 Hudson Street, is proposed to be 58 floors, and will offer 1017 rental apartments, around 60,000 square feet (5574 square meters) of retail space, and approximately 75,000 square feet (6968 square meters) of resident amenities. 50 Hudson Street, is proposed to be 48 floors and offer 924 rental units and 10,000 square feet (929 square meters) of retail space.

Key to the development is the inclusion of a 32,000-square-foot (2973-square-meter) public plaza that will span the distance between the two buildings and provide access to the waterfront esplanade. Key stakeholders are optimistic that the plaza will attract a variety of public events and make the development a positive impact on the surrounding community.

The project has been designed in collaboration between Handel Architects, Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects, and landscape architect Melillo Bauer Carman. 55 Hudson is expected to open in early 2027.
