On Tuesday afternoon, 19 March, emergency crews rushed to Liverpool's tallest building, in which the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service stated they "arrived to find a fire on the roof of the building, around the 40th floor." The crews worked on the roof material to expose the area and enable access to extinguish the fire.

Around 2:45pm, windows from a floor lower down the building shattered and glass rained down from above while the emergency services responded to the fire. A cause for this has yet to be determined.

Four fire engines, several police cars and a paramedic were present at the scene. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a fire was reported on the roof of the building, with a contractor suffering "minor burns". Fire crews administered first aid and an ambulance was requested to further assist, but the person was not required to go to the hospital.

Once the fire was extinguished on the roof, crews checked lower floors for smoke travel after alarms actuated. It was stated that no smoke travel was detected through the building.

The building continued to be monitored throughout the day.
