Alison Brooks Architects just unveiled plans for a new project, IQL Park Place, and have summited the building for planning. The project is meant to be an addition to International Quarter, a mixed-use complex that is being developed by Lendlease in east London. The complex already features buildings by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Arney Fender Katsalidis.

The IQL Park Place project contains a 35-story building and a 14-story building. The form of the buildings are hexagonal with stepped massing. These buildings will be residential and will, overall, provide 340 new homes to the area. There will also be community and retail spaces on the ground levels.

Occupants’ well being and their access to green space is important to this project. The massing of the proposal allows the maximum possible levels of sunlight to penetrate the buildings. The building will have green roofs and planted terraces while the overall development will include a natural amphitheater and nature trails. The landscape themes will be designed by LDA Design. AECOM will head sustainability for the project.
