Malcolm Laverick is the AECOM China Regional Director responsible for Building Services and has been based in China for 4 years. He has over 40 years of experience in Building Services Consultancy and is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of HKIE and CIBSE and a Member of ASHRAE. Following formal training and developing his career in the UK he came to Hong Kong in 1998. His extensive list of projects have been completed in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Middle East and now China where he acts not only as the Regional Director but also as lead Project Director for large multi-disciplinary Building Engineering teams. Examples of his project experience covers Olympic Stadia, major infrastructure Railway Stations, large Commercial Mixed Use developments, Healthcare and a variety of projects in the Hospitality and Leisure sector.

A selection of his experience in tall buildings in Asia includes in Hong Kong - AIG Tower, Chater House and UBS Bank relocation from Exchange Square into IFC 2. In Singapore - Asia Square Towers 1 and 2, whilst in China Shenzhen Kerry Centre, 688 Nanjing West Road Shanghai and relocating Google into the Shanghai World Financial Centre. He is currently responsible as the MEP Project Director for a mixed use development in Chongqing of 475,000 sq metres with five towers up to a height of 170 metres, whilst in Xian, a single tall tower of commercial office 130,000 sq metres and 200 metre height. Within China he has led the development of enhanced engineering design both in terms of the application of BIM and inbuilt sustainable design.
