A 16-story mixed-use project in Stavanger is progressing, with the construction contract recently awarded.

K8’s developer, Base Property, signed Skanska on to build the 15,000 square meter building. Upon completion the project will deliver 600 offices and conference facilities. The 16th floor will be open to the public, featuring a sky bar, restaurant, and roof terrace. The first two floors of the building will welcome the public as well, with a café, restaurant, canteen, lobby, flexible performance spaces and multifunctional exhibitions and events space that take place around an amphitheater staircase.

The church which is currently located on the site will take up the 3rd floor and first basement. The second basement level will provide parking for 400 bicycles, with a third basement level providing technical space.

The design is simple and modern in its form with a timeless expression of Scandinavian architecture. The facade is composed of slim vertical aluminum and glass panels, with green terraces at different heights and orientations.

The project is aiming for BREEAM NOR Excellent and WELL Gold.

Construction is expected to start third quarter 2021, and complete by the end of 2023.
