Hotel Brand Selected for 235-Meter Skyscraper in Shanghai

The luxury hotel, MGM Shanghai West Bund has been selected for the 235-meter AI Tower and Plaza in Shanghai, China. Designed by Nikken Sekkei Ltd, It is the first MGM city hotel in mainland China as well as the first luxury hotel in the Xuhui waterfront area.

The hotel houses 219 guestrooms which are located on the 43rd to 56th floors and offer panoramic views of the city and the Xuhui waterfront. Rooms start from 60 square meters in size, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and rank among one of the best in Shanghai.

MGM Shanghai West Bund is strategically located adjacent to "Museum Avenue"
across the river from the Expo and Qiantan Plate. It is near business districts
such as Xujiahui and Longhua Temple, as well as Metro Line 11 with direct
access to the Shanghai Disneyland Resort.

Shanghai West Bund refers to Xuhui waterfront is a popular, vibrant area of the
city with open spaces near the waterfront and an ideal weekend destination. More
than 20 public cultural facilities, including the West Bund Museum and Tank
Shanghai, add a unique cultural and artistic atmosphere to the area. The West
Bund Art Center was also selected as the finish line for the Shanghai International
Marathon on 2022.

The hotel has three restaurants and a bar, each with its own highlights, to provide
guests with visual and culinary enjoyment; grand views over the waterfront and
the city can also be enjoyed from these vantage points. The hotel also features
award-winning spa facilities with a sky fitness center and a pool.

The building is part of a multi-year Nikken Sekkei master plan to redevelop the
broader area following the closure of a local airport and the exit of the aerospace
industry. The flagship project harnesses prevailing winds to create comfortable
public spaces while improving air quality, suppressing heat island effects, and
creating a new character and image for the city.
