A new residential complex has been revealed as a replacement for the closed Galleria Mall in White Plains. The project, developed by Pacific Retail Capital Partners (PRCP), The Cappelli Organization, SL Green Realty Corporation, and Aareal Bank, consists of seven buildings. Annemarie Plenge from PRCP is collaborating with Gensler, Kimley Horn, and Eric Rain Landscape Architecture for the architectural design. The proposed complex, known as The District at Galleria, is currently under review by The White Plains Common Council.

If approved, it will offer 3,200 apartments, including 384 affordable housing units, along with a pedestrian promenade, pet playgrounds, grocery stores, restaurants, and retail spaces. The initial renderings showcase a variety of structures surrounding a lively outdoor plaza. The central plaza aims to create a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, hosting live music, community events, and a seasonal ice-skating rink. The construction schedule and completion date have yet to be determined.
