Construction Is Soon to Begin for Japan’s Tallest Skyscraper

Developer, Mitsubishi Estate Co., is preparing for construction to soon begin on a new skyscraper near Tokyo Station. The building is expected to become Japan's tallest, reaching a height of about 1083 feet (390 meters).

Known as Torch Tower, the building is scheduled to be completed by March 2028, surpassing Tokyo's current tallest building, Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower, which stands at 330 meters in Minato Ward.

Torch Tower is part of Mitsubishi Estate's redevelopment project, the company has already completed Tokiwabashi Tower, a 696-foot (212-meter) structure located in the same vicinity.

According to the developer, Torch Tower will feature an entertainment hall that can accommodate approximately 2,000 people, office spaces, and an observation facility. Additionally, it will house the luxury hotel chain called Dorchester Collection, originally from Britain.
