24-Story Renovation is Completed in Piraeus, Greece
As part of the celebration for the newly completed facade in the renovation of Piraeus Tower, the building was illuminated starting on 14 December 2023, with the Mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis, and representatives of Piraeus Tower S.A., the project promoter consisting of Dimand, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Prodea Investments attending. This project repositions an existing 1975 building to update and modernize it for today's environmental standards. The illumination this year was aptly given the theme "Rebirth."
The facade lighting for the holidays has sequences of colors and luminous intensities that were developed on all the fins of the Tower and help make the iconic beacon seen at night in the port city. The light will later transform into permanent white lighting, which has been studied for the best environmental conditions to have a mild intensity that protects against light pollution and energy consumption.
The official opening of the building will take place on 1 March 2024, in which occupants will then be allowed to enter. It is the fourth consecutive year the Piraeus Tower has been illuminated, with the previous years being while it was under construction. This year it celebrates its completion.
