Walter Grasmug graduated in 1990 from Graz University of Technology, Austria. In Paris, from 1992 with Renzo Piano Building Workshop, he worked on the reconstruction project; Potsdamer Platz in Berlin and subsequently joined Chaix & Morel et Associés where he became a partner in 1996.
For several years, through their participation in international competitions, Walter Grasmug has been actively involved in the development of the practice. His personal approach enabled the practice to win and undertake large-scale projects abroad; in particular - the ThyssenKrupp campus in Essen, the Museum of European History in Brussels, and several projects in Vienna including the Viertel Zwei Plus eco-campus and the recently completed renovation extension of the Social Security Headquarters.
