Dr. Hassan is currently a Principal, Head of Design Unit and Project Manager at the Structural Engineering Dept., Dar Al Handasah Consultants, Egypt. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1999 and 2002, respectively. Dr. Hassan has published over 70 papers in conferences and journals focusing on the behaviour of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and the use of advanced composite materials. His research includes analysis and design of high-rise concrete buildings, non-linear finite element analysis of concrete structures and the use of fiber reinforced polymers in strengthening concrete structures. He is a member of many code committees for Repair, Tall Buildings, and FRP in Egypt.
