Stephen Rys serves as the Building Solutions Specialist in the New York City metropolitan area for Nucor, North America’s largest steel producer. He has over eight years of structural engineering experience, specializing in the design and construction of slender, high-rise buildings. In his current role, he serves as a mill representative advising design teams and owners on methods of maximizing efficiencies in structural design, constructability, schedule and cost. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State and is an active member of the NYC design community. His design and construction proficiencies have led to successful delivery of projects like 15 Hudson Yards, 520 Park Avenue and 76 11th Avenue, all in New York City. Steve holds a master’s degree from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.
