Paul Alessandro is a partner at Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, an architecture and interiors practice dedicated to design of large-scale, mixed-use real-estate developments in urban centers nationwide.
A leader of HPA’s Preservation Group, Paul specializes in the adaptive re-use of historic structures, such as the landmarked Chicago Athletic Association Hotel and Randolph Tower City Apartments, Chicago’s tallest terra cotta-clad tower.
His experience with vintage heavy-timber buildings has evolved into his current work on several of the country’s largest mass-timber buildings, including T3 West Midtown in Atlanta; 2100 N. Southport, which will be Chicago’s tallest mass-timber structure; and a planned record-setting timber tower in Milwaukee.
