John Viise has been providing structural services for high-rise and special-use structures throughout the world for the past 28+ years. Prior to joining DeSimone as a Managing Principal in Chicago, he was an Associate Principal with Thornton Tomasetti 4+ years, an Associate Principal with Halvorson and Partners 9+ years and an Associate with Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Chicago and London for 13+ years. Select design experience of Mr. Viise at SOM includes, Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters), Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago (415 meters), the Pearl River Tower in Guangzhou (310 meters) and the Hong Kong Convention Center. Specifically at H+P, John led design efforts on the CTBUH award winning World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (380 meters), the proposed super-tall One Dubai Tower (800+ meter), and a number of towers throughout China.
