Mr. Jianping Gu, professor-level senior engineer, graduated from College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, and received his EMBA from China Europe International Business School.
Mr. Gu served as the general manager of Shanghai Tower from 2006 to 2022. He was deeply involved in the preliminary planning, design schemes, construction, and operations of the project. Shanghai Tower received BOMA Global Innovation Award, Special Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, CTBUH Best Tall Building Award, and MIPIM Best Popularity Award. He is the senior member of RICS, the first chairman of BOMA China, the honorary board member of CTBUH China office and he was awarded the title of 'Follower' by CTBUH.
In July, 2022, Mr. Gu was appointed as Chief Engineer of Shanghai North Bund New Landmark Project.
