Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering; ImpactWX Chair in Severe Storms Engineering
Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory, Western University, Canada

Gregory Kopp has more than 25 years of experience in wind engineering. He is an expert on wind tunnel test methods, full-scale tests of cladding & component systems, building aerodynamics, wind-borne debris, and severe wind storms. He is chair of the ASCE 49 Standard Wind Tunnel Testing for Buildings and Other Structures.
Dr. Kopp’s projects and experience relate to mitigating damage to structures, particularly cladding and component systems, during extreme wind storms such as tornadoes and hurricanes. Methods include model-scale wind tunnel and full-scale component test methods, field surveys of damage caused by tornadoes.
