Charles Berman is an Associate Principal at DS+R / Diller Scofidio + Renfro Architects in New York, joining the studio in 2013. He received a Bachelor of Science in Design from Arizona State University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. With over 34 years of experience, Charles has lent his unique expertise to many cultural, performing arts, and civic projects and has acquired a unique specialization in facade design and fabrication detailing.
For DS+R, Charles was a senior member of the design team of The Shed, a new center for artistic invention in New York. As the project’s Technical Director, he led the development, and the team, focusing on the facade, the structure, and the kinetics system for The Shed.
