Professor Wu was born in Shanghai in 1959. He graduated from the Tongji University architecture program in 1983. He once served as associate director of the Architecture Department at Tongji University, associate dean of the Architecture and Urban Planning Department, and acted as dean of the Architecture and Urban Planning Department from July 2009 to March 2014. He is now a professor, doctoral supervisor, and director of the architectural discipline in professional committee in the Architecture and Urban Planning Department of Tongji University. As a National First-Class Registered Architect, he now also serves the Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd (TJAD) as trustee and vice-president.
