In Tokyo, the Meiji Yasuda Seimei Shinjuku Building project has moved forward into construction.

The existing building at 9-1-12 Nishi-Shinjuku 1 adjacent to the station square at the west exit of Shinjuku Station was demolished. A total of seven existing buildings on the site were demolished. Construction of the new building, designed by Nikken Sekkei, began in early August, with the goal of completing it at the end of November 2025.

The new building will deliver about 100,000 square meters on a 6,295 square meters site. The building will have 23 floors at 129 meters. It will house offices, retail, childcare facilities, and parking.

The exterior will feature a curtainwall. A permeable atrium space will connect the ground level and basement level. Setbacks on three sides will provide open spaces and help activate the public realm.
