In a continued effort to bring residences to a hotel repositioning project in Buffalo, developer Stinson Hospitality Real Estate is proposing a 20-story residential building to be built on the hotel property.

The proposed building would reach 76 meters (250 feet) and would be built on an L-shaped parking lot that wraps around the back of the former Adam’s Mark Hotel. Stinson originally proposed converting the top floors of the hotel, about 200 rooms, into condominiums, but regulatory challenges made that a non-viable option.

The new building could contain some hotel components as well, as part of the continued repositioning of the existing hotel property, now known as the Buffalo Grand Hotel. The hotel is refocusing on conventions and events, with some remodeling of the hotel’s banquet and event space as well as a refresh of the 484 guest rooms.

To move forward, the proposed residential building would need to be approved by the city and the state's attorney general. At the earliest, construction could begin in summer 2022.
