Proposed Vancouver Residential Building Features WaterfallÂ
A project proposed for 1698 West Georgia Street in Vancouver’s Coal Harbour area would reach 100 meters and provide 125 residential units.
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the 33-story building takes its design inspiration from the surrounding mountains. The stepped massing at the top is meant to evoke mountaintop cliffs, while the podium’s forms nod toward the foothills. In addition, the building as currently designed would feature a two-story waterfall. Terraces designed into the façade would provide space for plants and trees to grow at varying heights of the building.
The property was rezoned for the project back in April. It's currently in the development application phase, which requires a public comment period. The Development Permit Board will announce a decision in October.
