In Kota Kinabalu, developer Gamuda Land topped off the final two towers of Bukit Bantayan Residences six months ahead of schedule. When complete, this should become the biggest mixed-use, high-rise development in Inanam.

The first building in the complex, Ebena Tower, is targeted for Occupation Certification (OC) in October 2019.

Gamuda Land held a topping-off ceremony for Cemara and Dilenia towers, to celebrate the completion of the building structures. The developer also announced that 4.03 million safe man-hours have been recorded, and the high-rise development is not only on time for delivery, but in fact, the Dilenia Tower is six months ahead of schedule.

Spreading across an 18-acre (7.3-hectare) of highland overlooking the South China Sea and a lush mountainous landscape, Bantayan Residences Phase 1 offers a total of 912 apartment units, 25 retail shop lots, wellness facilities and more. The 25-story 296-unit Ebena Tower will be ready this October, while the 25-story, 296-unit Cemara Tower and the 27-story, 320-unit Dilenia Tower are targeted for OC in 2020. Phase 2 is expected to launch next year, with two additional towers.

“Our aim is to create a vertical community where our residents will have a strong sense of belonging, where families can grow up well and where one can grow old. The key to this is being mindful. As soon as we set off for master-plan design, laying down the first brick to topping off the final layer of cement, much thinking has gone into every process to ensure a strong foundation and a timely delivery of the development for people who call this home, and for those who want to be a part of it,” said Dato’ Abdul Sahak bin Safi, Executive Director of Gamuda Land, adding that the award-winning property developer has garnered increased popularity among the local community.

The developer added that the early delivery is credited to three main factors: knowledge and experience sharing between the developer and local contractors; the application of enhanced, greener and faster construction methods with an aluminum formwork construction system; and localizing manpower expertise and sourcing material locally, contributing to the growth of Kota Kinabalu’s economy.

“I encourage more developers to adopt and spearhead the approach of placing priority in people and the environment, as it is also one of the Ministry’s missions to improve the overall quality of urban living.”

YB Datuk Hj Jaujan Bin Sambakong, Deputy Chief Minister cum Local Government and Housing Minister of Sabah, lauded Gamuda Land’s effort for raising the standards of property development. “Early delivery by six months ahead and high safe-man hours really speak volumes of Gamuda Land’s credentials. I’m also impressed with the way Bukit Bantayan Residences is designed and built to capitalize on the beautiful surrounding scenery, while having all the right components and even retailers locked down in advance for the commercial segment here, to meet and sustain the daily needs of the community. I encourage more developers to adopt and spearhead the approach of placing priority in people and the environment, as it is also one of the Ministry’s missions to improve the overall quality of urban living.”

Comprising 25 units of shops and located at the podium level that houses wellness facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium, multi-purpose hall and more, Curve 25 is part of Gamuda Land’s placemaking initiative to reinvent public spaces into community places that bring people together. This retail component of Bukit Bantayan Residences serves to create a conducive platform for neighbors to get to know one another, live and play together, and ultimately form a tight-knit community.

The developer has also invested upfront in activating the home, eating, play, park and shopping areas. Surrounding communities have benefited socio-economically from the recent happenings, with hot-air balloon rides and various festive events hosted at Bukit Bantayan Residences. With the moon cake festival around the corner, the development is also hosting an “Au’some Mid-Autumn” celebration.
