Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers Traps Residents on 22nd Floor

Hurricane Ian landed in Fort Myers, Florida in the United States on 28 September, 2022 as a Category 4 hurricane.

Terry Mazany, who moved to Florida from California a year ago, gave an interview and said him, his wife and his 91-year-old mother are "trapped" on the 22nd floor of their high-rise condo in Fort Myers, the Oasis Grand Tower 1, due to power outages caused by the storm. Mazany said there's 8-feet of water around them and the elevators in the building are currently shut down.
