An AU$100-million (US$ 77-million), 22-story residential development at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast has been proposed at 9-11 Armrick Avenue. It would be developer Turrisi Properties’ first Gold Coast development.

Designed by Rothelowman, it would provide 81 “high-end” apartments, as well as three top-level penthouses with separate private rooftop recreation decks. The podium communal recreation area features a gym, pool, sundeck, spa, sunken lounge, dining and teppanyaki/ barbecue facilities.

The high-rise development would replace an existing three-story 1970s-style unit block.

Apartment sales on the Gold Coast have picked up pace in recent months with figures across 2021 so far outstripping the surge at the end of 2020.

Also in Broadbeach, Optimus Developments has completed work on its 20-story project at 31 Broadbeach Avenue, Bel Brae. At 21 Elizabeth Avenue, work is progressing on a 35-story tower.

Meanwhile, two projects are currently before the council: a 40-story tower at 6-8 George Avenue, and a 26-story apartment tower on the corner of 2 First Ave and 88 Old Burleigh Road.
