Construction Contract Signed for 20-Story Glasgow Build-to-Rent Tower

Platform_, specialists in the provision and operation of build to rent accommodation, have signed an agreement with contractor Graham to deliver their latest project in Glasgow.

Central Quay will rise on the banks of the River Clyde delivering 498 apartments across four blocks, dominated by a 20-story tower, designed by Keppie.

Acting as developer, operator and asset manager Platform_ will incorporate a range of residents facilities including a rooftop garden, lounges, games rooms, gym, cycle club & café, terraces, and a co-working commercial area with a cafe.

Gary Holmes, regional managing director for Graham’s building division said: “Private rental developments are again increasing in popularity across the UK, feeding a growing appetite of those people who want flexible, sociable and cost-effective living, and this project further bolsters our strong position in the residential sector. The facilities we are constructing for Platform_ will provide high-quality apartments, incorporating the full range of lifestyle and amenity facilities which today’s urban professional renters expect.”

Matt Willcock, development director at Platform_ adds “The building will not only help redevelop the local area but will provide much-needed housing to cope with high demand.”

Graham is already on-site conducting enabling works with construction scheduled to complete by 2023.
