It has been confirmed that Marriott International will open a Moxy hotel in the new high-rise to go up at 371 Pitt Street. It is stated that this hotel would feature one of Sydney’s highest outdoor rooftop bars on level 34, as well as a retail component.

Originally approved in 2020, the development is a joint venture between Rebel Property and Everest Property, who acquired the site in 2019. The architectural design will have a slender high-rise sitting over a podium using recycled brick construction. The podium will accomidate hospitality spaces and a double-height atrium hosting the hotel lobby. The upper floors will be clad with new brick selected to match the recycled brick used on the podium.

The construction cost has been estimated at north of AUD$250 million (USD$167.6 million). A restaurant and bar, gym, meeting rooms, and a grab-and-go outlet are also planned. It will join a growing collection of more than 140 Moxy hotels across the world and will become Marriott International’s eighth hotel in the greater Sydney area.

The 308-key hotel is expected to open once the building is completed in 2025.
