On Monday, 30 October, 2023 the company owning the 163 meter Old Mutual Tower in Nairobi, disclosed that it plans to sell the building, and have shareholders authorize the sale and transfer at the next meeting on 14 November.  The iconic building in the city's skyline was completed in 2016. The Old Mutual Group Holdings company who are the current owners has considered selling the property to balance its books amidst the rise in debt servicing costs and the depreciating Kenyan Shilling.
