CTBUH Chapter Event
Catastrophic earthquakes repeatedly claim thousands of victims in many parts of the world and destroy large parts of buildings and infrastructure – is Germany also at risk for comparable scenarios? Added to this is the increasing number of storms and bad weather events due to climate change – they also threaten our built environment as well as the life and limb of many people. What are the challenges that have to be faced during planning and execution – and what do the corresponding protective measures look like in concrete terms?
At our lecture event, the CTBUH Germany e.V. take a look at the dangers posed to tall buildings by wind loads and seismic vibrations, and examine planning and technical options that offer protection against these hazards.
