The CTBUH India chapter organized a façade-centric seminar with a central theme covering India’s targeted commitment of being a carbon neutral economy by the year 2070 and the role buildings will play in contributing towards the target.
The seminar included keynote presentations from Kapil Gupta (Co-founder, Serie Architects) and Jonas Upton Hansen (Founder, UHA Architects). Both presentations showcased projects with sustainability and low carbon reliance taken as key design approaches with very successful built outcomes.
The seminar concluded with a panel discussion on the roadmap to achieving carbon neutrality in buildings with a panel comprising of Sandeep Shikre (CEO, SSA Architects), Prasad Vaidya (Director, Solar Decathalon India), Natasha Das (BD Manager, OneClick LCA) and Dr Omkar Powar (Innovations Manager, Schueco India). The panel discussion was moderated by Gautam Bhasin (Regional Director, Inhabit). The conversation covered the immediate need in the design industry to be more carbon sensitive in their decisions and how to prepare the next generation of professionals to carry forward the challenge.
This event was made possible with the support of Schueco India, Guardian Glass, Diamond engineering and Blick systems, who also displayed their innovative products and shared some of the innovations being done in the product and materials development.
