On Monday, 9 January, CTBUH hosted an evening meeting for the Chicago network to discuss some exciting CTBUH 2023 initiatives, including a comprehensive plan of Chicago events and other local initiatives. The event began with a presentation and discussion led by President Antony Wood in the auditorium, followed by drinks and networking. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about how to get involved in research, collaborations, and chapter activities, while enjoying the setting of Unity Temple in Oak Park, recently granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status as one of the most significant works of modern architecture in the US.

One aim of the event was to build stronger links with the local community. In addition to professionals from the most recognized firms in the city, there were representatives of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the AIA Chicago Chapter, the Chicago Architecture Center, Argonne National Laboratory, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, 360 Chicago, Cook County Real Estate Department, and the City of Chicago.
