The inaugural CTBUH Americas Regional Conference had a full room of excited attendees ready to hear the speakers in "Green(er) Capital: Investing in a Sustainable Urban Future," held in Downtown Seattle at the Lotte Hotel.
CTBUH Seattle Chapter Chair, Sean Canady, gives an introduction thanking those in attendance and the multiple sponsors who made the conference possible.

Mark Wishnie is Chief Sustainability Officer at the BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group (TIG), and gives a brief overview and introduction of his work in the timber industry.

In her keynote entitled "Climate Smart Building – A Call to Action," Kate Simonen, Founding Director of the Carbon Leadership Forum, gives her vision towards a future in which more carbon is stored in long-life buildings and infrastructure than is emitted over their life cycle.

Lloyd Sigal is a Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and presents the project One Madison Avenue in New York City.

Tomás Méndez Echenagucia is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington’s department of Architecture and presents an intro to the type of designs using computational geometry and optimization algorithms to make building components more sustainable.
