The municipality of Itapema, on the coast of Santa Catarina, will soon be home to a 60-story, 237- meter high building. The VR Tower, developed by Nova Empreendimentos, will begin construction on 1 April, 2019. It is set to be among the tallest buildings in the city, and potentially the fourth-tallest in Brazil.

Financed by entrepreneurs Gilyandro Reis and Eraldo da Silva Mafra Junior, the building is predicted to gross R200 million (US$51.7 million).
