Henry E. Kromer, known as Ted, was Development Director for Giarratana LLC in Nashville, TN for 20 years. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1966 with a Bachelor of Architecture. He became a registered Architect in Georgia in 1970 and received his Georgia Real Estate License in 1986. Additionally, Ted earned his Tennessee Real Estate License in 1984 and obtained his Tennessee Architectural License in 2003.
Ted served as the Development Director of Atlanta-based Cousins Properties, where he oversaw the development of regional mall shopping centers across the southeast totaling over 12 million square feet. He then co-founded Trion Properties with two partners in 1982. The company developed office and retail projects throughout the southeastern United States, with a significant focus on Nashville. Their notable projects included the award-winning renovation of Green Hills Mall, one million square feet of office buildings, and strip centers across various southeastern cities, which were sold by 2004.
Afterwards, Ted joined Giarratana as Development Director, focusing on residential buildings in downtown Nashville. With Ted, the team completed over 1,500 apartments and 1,000 condominium units. Notable projects where Ted’s expertise played a critical role includes relocating Bridgestone Corporation's national headquarters to downtown Nashville and completing the tallest residential building in Tennessee at 45-stories, known as 505. Currently, Ted and team are finalizing a 38-story apartment building and constructing a 60-story mixed-use residential building, which will be the tallest tower in the state. Ted coordinates between Giarratana and their architect partners, handling concept design and reviewing construction documents. Their buildings continue to set the standard for residential living in Nashville, TN.
Ted resides in Nashville with his beloved wife of 35 years, Karen. Aside from his wonderful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he enjoys his horses, sailing and skiing.
