Steven Koehn is the Director of Cooperative Forestry at the USDA Forest Service. In his portfolio, he supervises the Wood Innovations program that supports forest product market development. The Wood Innovations program has prompted significant federal investments which have helped the mass timber sector grow including: training for architects, engineers and developers through WoodWorks; funding of the first International Mass Timber Conference; capital investments in new factories; feasibility and engineering studies for multiple early-adopter buildings; materials testing; creation of the Timber Innovation Act; sponsorship of the National Building Museum’s year-long Timber City exhibition; and more. Steve has been with the Forest Service since 2014.
