Simon Sturgis is an Architect and founder of Targeting Zero, the Carbon Consultancy. Simon is widely recognised as an expert, an innovator and a lateral thinker in delivering a low carbon, resource efficient, built environment.

He has authored official policy on Embodied and Whole Life Carbon for the RICS, the RIBA and for the Greater London Authority’s new London Plan.

He is leading industry wide task groups to produce firstly ‘Carbon and Net Zero Definitions’ for the Construction industry, to be included in the NZCBS, and secondly to update the RICS Professional Statement on ‘Whole Life Carbon assessment for the built environment -2017’.

Simon is an advisor to the following on low carbon construction: BEIS, DLUHC, Cabinet Office, Historic England, the World Wildlife Fund, Schroders Real Estate, British Land, Landsec, Grosvenor, Legal & General, Quintain, Warwick University,…
