Simon Bate is currently a Façade Engineer at Buro Happold. Graduating from the University of Warwick in 2019, Simon has since worked on a wide variety of projects in both the UK and globally, with a diverse range of façade designs, and in a range of sectors and design phases. Simon’s work includes a portfolio of cladding remediation projects, from inspections of existing buildings through to the review of the design of remedial solutions and monitoring of on-site installation.

Simon was awarded ‘Young Façade Engineer of the Year 2022’ for his work on some of the most challenging projects relating to the remediation of combustible cladding on high-risk buildings, and also sits on the board for the Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) where he aims to increase the awareness of façade engineering amongst university students in the UK.
