Shinichi Takeuchi was born in Aichi prefecture, the central part of Japan, in 1968. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, at the Graduate school of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts.
He joined Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects in 1993 and has involved in numerous projects as Chief Architect. He has taken a supervising role in various oversea projects in Europe, the United States and Singapore since 2004. He is also an associate professor at Kanazawa Institute of Technology Department of Architectural Design.
