About

Sara Beardsley, FAIA, is an Associate Principal and senior technical architect at SCB. She has over 20 years of experience working on high performance design of tall and supertall buildings. Her projects include 1234 W. Randolph; the 1000m Jeddah Tower; the 95-story 401 N. Wabash; the renovation of Mies' Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago; FKI Headquarters in Seoul, Korea; and 830 Brickell Plaza in Miami. She specializes in high performance exterior walls and has a keen interest in reducing carbon emissions and embodied energy attributed to buildings. Her publications and research include contribution of the CTBUH Tall Buildings Reference Guide; Supertall, Megatall: How High Can We Go?; Resi-density and the Chicago De-Carbonization Plan. She has also contributed to CTBUH Journal including "The Design of Akhmat Tower" and the special issue, "Voices of Women in Tall Buildings."
