About

Robert Schmitz is an architect with 20 years’ experience. As a partner at White Arkitekter, he has managed several of the company’s flagship projects from competition to completion. He has a long experience in complex design projects with an emphasis on commercial office projects, cultural buildings, hotels and urban planning. Schmitz is also the Director of White’s competitions team and part of the company’s strategic management team. He is co-lead behind Sara Culture Centre in Skellefteå, a climate positive 20 story mass timber building that received the International Award for Wood Architecture in 2022 and Best Culture Building at WAF. He is a frequent lecturer and keynote speaker at universities and industry events, and currently featured in the Venice Biennale of Architecture "Laboratory of the Future".
