Robert is currently based in the Middle East with Buro Happold Consulting Engineers where he is responsible for the leadership, development and integration of design services for the MEP and Sustainability disciplines.

Robert has over 20 years experience of working within a design consultancy environment on a variety of projects including commercial office, residential, leisure, education, cultural and aviation. Robert has a particular interest in Tall Building Design and has been involved over the last few years in a number of tall building MEP peer reviews in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Robert is an advocate of resource efficiency and the appropriate use of low carbon and renewable technologies in the region, particularly where this is integrated within sustainability initiatives that contribute to the ever developing Middle Eastern market.

Robert also likes to focus on the extent to which technical design informs Client and Architectural drivers. He actively promotes integrated team working and the use of Building Information Modelling to achieve overall ‘best value’.
