About
1. Introduce yourself (name, company, role, time in real estate etc)
Richard Ward, Board director at DP9, 23 years in real estate.
2. What does your job entail?
As a board director at DP9 I oversee a wide number of projects.
We are one of the biggest planning teams in London, focusing mainly on central locations.
I lead our team, overseeing and advising on guiding schemes through planning stages.
I also advise our clients and wider consultant teams, helping set realistic aspirations for projects.
Overseeing projects means being a jack-of-all-trades: this helps us understand the technical aspects of schemes, which then allows us to assist clients and ultimately create a brilliant asset that works for everyone.
3. Tell us about your (or your businesses) involvement in tall buildings?
If you’re looking at the London skyline, you’re looking at DP9.
We have been involved in the delivery of almost every tall building in London.
In recent years, I have been project lead on several major central London projects, including One Leadenhall, 55 Gracechurch Street and 70 Gracechurch Street.
I am currently responsible for the development process for Elephant and Castle town centre. It’s a real privilege to be involved in reviving such an iconic area, which is very much a hub for London’s South American, Columbian community.
