Raşit Çömlek has been working for eighteen years as a “Structural Design Engineer” for Balkar Structural Design & Consulting INC. after getting Civil Engineering Bachelor’s Degree at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He finished Structural Engineering Graduate Degree at ITU in 2008, while he has been making a professional career since 2004 and still is studying Ph.D. at Gebze Technical University. He has 18 years of structural design experience in tall buildings and shopping malls. He has taken part in many international construction projects with relevant job descriptions, such as coordination of structural details, linear and nonlinear analysis, reinforced concrete design, and steel structures for gravity and lateral loads. The major projects that define his experience are the Ashgabat TV Tower, Mall of Istanbul, Çamlıca TV&Radio Tower Project, and İstanbul City Museum.
