Dr. Piyush Khairnar is Instructor at Texas Tech University, Lubbock. He graduate with a doctoral degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and was awarded Best Defended Dissertation in 2022. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at The College of Architecture, IIT.
His doctoral research titled "Efficiency of Carbon Composite Structural Systems for Tall Buildings: A Parametric Simulation-Based Framework for Finite Element Analysis" explores the application of Carbon Fiber as a primary structural material in tall buildings, where parametric building simulations were performed to achieve efficient structural systems with significant weight savings. The research aims to investigate carbon fiber as a potential alternative to traditional building materials allowing taller and more efficient structural systems that result in resource savings.
