Philippa (Pip) Simpson is the Director for Buildings and Renewal at the Barbican. She oversees the operations and facilities of the Barbican and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, as well as leading on the Barbican Renewal Program – which will transform the Barbican, celebrating its globally-significant architectural heritage while reimagining what an arts center can be and bringing underused spaces into new creative use, all without adding a single square meter of extra building.
Pip has previously worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) where she sat on the Executive Board as Director of Design, Estate and Public Program, leading on major capital projects, exhibitions, heritage conservation and restoration works and design and brand initiatives.
