Nickolaus is a Project Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti, where he specializes in advanced structural analysis methods for tall buildings and large-scale sport venues. His global experience spans projects such as the Al Thumama Stadium in Qatar, The Ministry of Taxation tower in Azerbaijan, and 50 Hudson yards in New York City.

Complementing his project work, Nickolaus serves as a regional representative for Thornton Tomasetti’s incubator for research and development, CORE. Within this role, he has advanced the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to inform building shape and occupancy comfort, and led various research initiatives focused on leveraging the latest computational techniques to optimize tall building structural performance.

Nickolaus is a graduate of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and has been involved with CTBUH since 2016.
