Dr. Hegazy is an award-winning engineering professional with over 29 years of experience driving technical and operational excellence on major international and iconic projects across MENA and Asia
He is currently the Director of Property & Buildings Construction Supervision at WSP in the Middle East, where he oversees strategy development and implementation, provides leadership and support to employees, and manages overall commercial and contracts operations, including business development. He also had the privilege of leading the consultant teams in delivering Dubai's iconic One Za’abeel development, along with contributing to other landmark projects within WSP’s portfolio.
With nearly three decades of experience in the global engineering sphere, he has developed excellent reputation of strong leadership, proactiveness, decisiveness and applying his technical expertise to innovate sustainable solutions, tackle complex engineering challenges and changing the status quo, driving quality, and boosting efficiencies, while ensuring project’s swift delivery, clients' satisfaction and raising the bars for sustainability standards.
He has ingrained himself as an invaluable member of the WSP team, not only with his technical and leadership skills but also with his passionate of sharing knowledge and expertise with a focus on the junior engineers pairing with their technology skillsets to enable them to provide more efficient designs for future sustainable cities.
He is an avid believer in continuous learning and holds numerous professional qualifications including a Doctorate Degree in Engineering Management, an MBA with specialization in Projects Risk Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science majoring in Civil Engineering. Mohamed holds additional certifications in Contracts Administration, Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs – Conseils (FIDIC) Contracts and Claims Adjudication. He has received numerous prestigious national and international awards, including being crowned 'Engineer of the Year 2020' for the MENA region by the CW Awards. The CW judges recognized him for his exceptional technical expertise, cost-cutting strategies, and ability to enhance efficiencies. Additionally, he was honored with the CTBUH 2024 award for 'Best Tall Building in the Middle East & Africa' for One Za'abeel, Dubai's newest iconic tower."
