Mike Wong graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Master’s Degree in International Real Estate (with distinction), and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and an Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management. Academically, he is an Honorary Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction and a core external member of the Ronald Coase Centre for Property Rights Research, both at the University of Hong Kong. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2009.
Mr. Wong has 40 years of solid experience in managing a diverse range of large-scale property developments and is currently responsible for project planning, development and management at Sun Hung Kai Properties. He leads several project teams overseeing a wide range of projects in Hong Kong and mainland China. They include offices, shopping malls, hotels, luxury apartments and residential estates, from government approval to concept and design, on to construction and handover to managers or owners. Notable projects include HK International Finance Centre, Central Plaza, Dynasty Court, and the Kowloon Station MTR project in Hong Kong, and Shanghai International Finance Centre in Shanghai.
